INFORMATION
AM Trépanier is an artist, editor and cultural worker living in
Tiohtià:ke/Montreal. Through a collaborative and documentary approach, their research and practice interests focus on indiscipline in art, counter-histories, experiences of collective organization and the democratization of knowledge.
They hold an MA in Media Studies and a BFA in Intermedia, both from Concordia University. Since 2018, they are the coeditor of Cigale, a bilingual publishing platform dedicated to experimental, documentary and critical writing.

*My practice is an interdisciplinary one, or as scholar Myriam Suchet would call it, an indisciplined practice, one that “attacks the wall that separates research from action, as well as that which pretends to seal off thought and isolate it from creation” [Translation] (Indiscipline !, 2016). Carrying on this modus operandi of indisciplinarity, I want to span disciplinary boundaries and open up my research practice towards different ways of knowing and thinking, while embracing the intrinsically creative quality of research.
